Fo Guang Shan is one of the largest Buddhist organizations in the world, and the headquarters is located in Dashu district of Kaohsiung.
The organisation emphasizes education and services to propagate Buddhism. It established by Venerable Master Hsin Yun in 1967 on a mountain-top bamboo forest, and right now there are almost 200 branch temples worldwide.
If you would like to experience the atmosphere, you could just go visit or join their “one day life in the temple” program every weekend.
